In 1986, Hiroshi Sakaguchi did interior woodworking for the Desert Café, a Santa Fe restaurant no longer in operation. He also constructed the entrance door of solid cherry panels framed by Port Orford white cedar. While not a traditional Japanese design, it had a Japanese sense of elegant simplicity. Included in the various interior works were booths made of Port Orford white cedar.
